Mark Valentine



Prior to joining Davenport Partners in March of 2007, Mr. Valentine was a Managing Director for six years with Equity Office Properties Trust (NYSE:EOP), in charge of the marketing and leasing of the 6.2 million square foot Orange County and Southern Los Angeles County regions. Additionally, he had local oversight in perfecting over 750,000 square feet of office building entitlements, as well as analysis and underwriting of potential acquisitions, dispositions and developments.


Previous to the Equity Office/Spieker Properties merger in 2001, Mr. Valentine was Vice President of Spieker Properties(NYSE:SPK) in charge of the Central/North Orange County and Inland Empire regions, responsible for marketing & leasing, operations, administration and construction activities for over 3.2 million square feet with 45 employees in 17 buildings. Over his four year tenure with Spieker, Mr. Valentine was involved over 2.1 million square feet of office building entitlements and led the successful repositioning of over 1 million square feet of office projects.


From 1993 – 1997, Mr. Valentine was Vice President of Universal Protection Service a then $20 million, privately held security guard services firm headquartered in Southern California. He managed the day-to-day operations and administration of over 500 employees as well as handling new business development for the Los Angeles region.


Mr. Valentine began his professional career as a broker with CB Commercial Real Estate (NYSE:CBG), where from 1983 until 1993, he successfully executed $70 million of real estate transactions out of the Newport Beach office. He was “Rookie of the Year” for that office, one of the highest producing offices in the nation.


Mr. Valentine holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Finance and Business Economics, with a Real Estate Emphasis, from the University of Southern California and is a licensed California real estate broker.
